Why We Built This Site
North Carolina gives the public broad access to many court records, but Craven County records are split by office and record type. The Clerk of Superior Court keeps Superior Court and District Court files, maintains public terminal access, issues copies, and acts as probate judge for estates. The Register of Deeds handles marriage records, birth and death certificates, deeds, and military discharges. The Sheriff's Office and Detention Center handle jail and booking information. State systems such as eCourts Portal, North Carolina judgment search, and state offender tools add another layer.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
